Survey: Desperate Housewives Have Regrets About Husbands
January 4th, 2007 by The BabeSo much for happily ever after. A new survey has found a shockingly large number of blissful brides turn into desperate wives.
If given a chance to do things over, more than half of 3,000 married women polled by Woman’s Day magazine and AOL were not sure they would marry their husband again — with more than a third saying they would definitely not pick the same spouse.
In the online survey, which was not scientific, more than three-quarters of women also said they fantasize about a man other than their husband — and 39 percent admitted to constantly flirting.
Three-quarters of the women also admitted keeping secrets from their husbands — like the crushes they have on celebs. On the top of the fantasy list for women who like sexy married stars are actors Will Smith and Ben Affleck. They each received 31 percent of the vote.
Not surprisingly, the survey found that wives are not the only ones whose thoughts and bodies stray to others.
Nearly half the women said they suspected their husbands of cheating or caught them in the act.
Ignorance, the women said, is not bliss — 84 percent said they would “absolutely” want to know if their spouse was being unfaithful.
A lot of women apparently become bored in the bedroom. Nearly a third said they stick to the far side of the marital bed. Another third said they don’t have time for sex with their husbands.
Just 10 percent of married women said they usually don sexy lingerie in bed. More than half prefer a ratty T-shirt or comfortable pajamas, while a third sleep naked.
The biggest rows between married couples are caused by petty disputes, say 51 percent of the women. Money, with 27 percent of the vote, also was high on the list of reasons why husband and wife fight.
The survey also found women spent time thinking about celebrity match-ups.
The most unusual matchup had anchorwoman Katie Couric bedding one of the hottest eligible men in Hollywood, George Clooney.
Nearly half of the women said they wanted the hunk to end up with Couric, while 31 percent thought New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg should pair up with the CBS anchor.
Actress Jennifer Aniston should hook up with Matthew McConaughey, according to 47 percent of those surveyed.
Jessica Simpson belongs with Hollywood hunk Josh Lucas, according to the poll.
And the real-life desperate housewives in the poll felt “Desperate Housewives” star Teri Hatcher should get it on with John Stamos, of Uncle Jesse fame in the TV sitcom “Full House.”

But a prosecutor said the only danger Brian Hughes faced was from his wife.
Elicia Hughes, 35, a former Jackson schoolteacher and the mother of the couple’s two small children, is on trial in Hinds County Circuit Court in the June 3, 2004, shooting death of her husband.
Before a packed courtroom on the first day of Hughes’ trial Wednesday, Hinds County Assistant District Attorney Stanley Alexander told jurors Elicia Hughes had a philandering husband and she no longer wanted to be married to him.
Her solution: Shoot her husband to death, Alexander said.
But Alexander said the motive wasn’t a cheating husband but rather old-fashioned “greed, money.”
“She decided to murder her husband for a quarter-of-a-million-dollar insurance policy,” Alexander said.
Anderson told the jury the $250,000 insurance policy was taken out on Brian Hughes in 2001, three years before his death.
Hughes, 32, was shot in the chest, arm, leg and thigh in the couple’s home on Fairwood Drive in Jackson.
Elicia Hughes, who had been a third-grade teacher at Lee Elementary, told police she awoke about 11:20 p.m. on June 3 and heard a popping sound she thought had come from an air conditioner. She said she got up to investigate and found her husband dead on the floor of the front room.
Both the prosecution and defense pointed out that Brian Hughes had had several affairs.
One of the women he had an affair with testified Wednesday for the prosecution. Robbie Rayford of Madison said she began an affair with Brian Hughes about two years before he was killed.
“He was my soul mate,” Rayford said. “I didn’t know he was married at first, but he told me. I was in love with Mr. Brian Hughes.”
Elicia Hughes never looked at Rayford while she was testifying about her relationship with her husband.
Rayford said she had been to Brian Hughes’ house twice when his wife wasn’t at home.
And Rayford said she was on a cell phone talking to Brian Hughes for 35 minutes the night he was killed, including talking to him as he arrived and entered his home and turned the TV on roughly 10 minutes before the shooting was reported to authorities.
Rayford said they ended their telephone call at 11:12 p.m., when Brian Hughes told her to let him call her back - a code to let her know his wife was present.
Rayford testified she knew he had a relationship with another woman who was married and they had argued about that woman. She said he also had indicated he had a relationship with two other women outside his marriage, but she didn’t know any of the details.
Willie Hughes Jr., Brian Hughes’ brother, testified that he knew about his brother’s relationship with Rayford. He said the night his brother was killed, his brother had dropped him off at home about 9:30 p.m. after the two and another person had been to a local restaurant.
Evidence will show Elicia Hughes didn’t have anything to do with killing her husband, Anderson said.
Alexander said a gun residue test found a small patch of gunpowder on the back of Elicia Hughes’ left hand.
John Colette, Elicia Hughes’ other attorney, said it would have been easy for his client to get the gunpowder on the back of her hand from touching her husband’s body and clothes.
Brian Hughes was shot with a .45-caliber handgun. Some shell casings were found inside and outside the north Jackson home.
The gun used in the killing has never been located.
Brian and Elicia Hughes had been married about five years when the shooting occurred. They have two girls, who were 3 and 4, at the time.
Brian Hughes, who worked at Delphi Packard Electric in Clinton, had three other children prior to the marriage, according to testimony.
Alexander said a portion of Brian Hughes’ salary went to support his other three children and Elicia Hughes wasn’t happy about it.
Alexander said divorce wasn’t a viable option for Elicia Hughes because she would only receive 25 percent of his salary for her two children.
If convicted, Elicia Hughes faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. She is out of jail on a $60,000 bond.
Circuit Judge Winston Kidd placed a gag order on attorneys in the case.

Woman jailed for severing husband’s organ in Taiwan
January 4th, 2007 by The BabeTAIPEI: A Taiwan woman has been sentenced to 20 months in jail for severing her unfaithful husband’s penis and flushing it down the toilet, a newspaper said yesterday. The July attack occurred in Nantou County, central Taiwan. The Nantou District Court announced the sentencing on Wednesday, according to the Liberty Times. On July 29, the wife put four sleeping pills into a cup of grape juice that she served to her husband, a police officer said.
After he fell asleep, she tied his limbs to the four legs of their bed with nylon robe and sealed his mouth with tape to muffle his shouts.
Using a banana knife, the wife cut off her husband’s penis and flushed it down the toilet. She applied Chinese medicine to his wound to stop the bleeding before calling police to turn herself in, the daily said.
The court could have given the wife a minimum five-year sentence but showed leniency with a sentence of 20 months, citing the husband’s extramarital affair as the cause of the castration and because her husband has reached an out-of-court settlement with her. The Liberty Times report did not say if the couple are still living together, but the husband is still working at the Nantou Police Bureau. The report did not name the officer or his wife.–DPA

Justice Eady’s order restrained a cuckolded husband, called AB for public consumption, from revealing the name of a celebrity, a high-profile sports personality who allegedly had a roaring affair with AB’s wife. They met in hotels all over Europe and the United States to which the lady flew at the celebrity’s expense.
The ban is effective till February 2007 when the matter will be reviewed again. Until then the celebrity can only be identified as CC, which too are not his actual initials.
CC had pleaded that if his philandering was exposed it would upset his wife and children. His wife is said to have threatened suicide. CC himself too hinted at similar drastic steps It was these factors that held back newspaper editors so far from printing the details - which are well known - until the court order came.
What it means is that AB — who fought the case on legal aid — has not been able to exploit the situation for financial gain.
CC also said that media headlines about his extra marital relationship would damage his attempts to rebuild his marriage. His claim, which is disputed, was that at the time of the affair he did not know that the woman, who did not wear a wedding ring and made no mention of a current partner, was married.
The husband AB planned to sell the story to newspapers and post details of the affair on websites. His claimed he want to expose CC who was said to be a family man. AB also intended to file divorce proceedings and to name CC as co-respondent.
The judge was evidently disturbed by AB’s frank intention of cashing in on his wife’s affair. After a hearing on CC‘s plea for an injunction against AB talking publicly about the matter, the judge ruled that even a public figure engaged in an adulterous affair had a ‘right to privacy” under the European Convention on Human Rights.
The order gags the husband from spilling the beans about the affair. The judge added the gag was justified as the aggrieved husband’s motives were “spite, money-making or tittle tattle.”
The judge noted that CC had ‘conducted an adulterous relationship for some months with the defendant’s wife and now seeks the court’s assistance in preventing him from telling anybody about it”. He said he was faced with “the striking proposition that a spouse whose partner has committed adultery owes a duty of confidence to the third party adulterer to keep quiet about it”.
However, referring to the husband, the judge also noted, “His attitude is that he is entitled to his revenge on the claimant and, if possible, also to some financial gain; if his own wife, or the claimant’s wife or his children, suffer incidental fallout, then that is the claimant’s fault.”
In an e-mail to CC, the defendant had apparently threatened to tell “every person in the world” by publishing the details on the internet. He said that, in a tape-recorded, and apparently drunken telephone call, the defendant told him, ‘Listen mate, you’re going to be finished when this goes to court.”
Such behaviour of AB apparently persuaded the judge to give breathing time to CC.
