Joint Tax Returns Can Reveal Financial Infidelity
Infidelity expert Ruth Houston warns married women filing joint tax
returns to check tax forms for evidence of financial infidelity and
other hidden clues about their husband's financial affairs.
Two
recent surveys found that financial infidelity occurs in approximately a
third of all committed relationships.
"A
significant amount of financial infidelity is discovered during the tax
season by spouses filing joint tax returns." says infidelity expert Ruth
Houston, founder of Infidelity Advice.com, and author of Is He Cheating
on You? - 829 Telltale Signs.
Since
financial infidelity often accompanies sexual infidelity, Houston
advises married women who file joint returns with their husbands to
closely examine all tax forms and related documents for hidden clues
about their husband's financial affairs. "Knowing what to look for is
the key." says Houston, "Certain lines on Form 1040 can reveal financial
transactions made without your knowledge or consent."
"Certain
behavior on the part of a spouse can also indicate financial deception."
warns Houston. "If a woman's husband refuses to answer any questions she
may have about their completed tax forms; or tries to pressure her into
signing the joint return without first looking it over, she should be
very concerned."
